| Poet and music critic, born in Barcelona, NE Spain, who died tragically young of tuberculosis. He collected folk ballads and was one of the moving spirits behind the Catalan revival. He contributed the sections on Catalunya and the Balearics to Recuerdos y Bellezas de España (1893–43). Of his sixteen surviving poems, the most important are ‘Retorno de la feria’ and ‘Canción de la primavera’. |
