| Footballer, born in Newry, Co Down, SE Northern Ireland, UK. Britain's most capped footballer, he played for Northern Ireland 119 times. He started his career with Newry Town before joining Watford, moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 1974, and became their regular goalkeeper for over 10 years before joining Arsenal in 1977. He made a total of 747 Football League appearances, and won several cup-winner's medals. He retired in 1986. |
