| Composer, born in Nancy, NE France. A prolific composer, he found his sources of inspiration in literary domains, writing his first opera (chamber) To be Sung (1992–3) after Gertrude Stein. Other works include ballets with François Raffinot including Hommage (to Dominique Bagouet), music for small ensembles under the influence of the group Accroche, notes, pieces for solo instruments whose title begins with ‘i’, and a philosophical operatorio La Melancholia. Awards include the Prix de la Vocation (1977), Prix de la Sacem (1980), and Prix de Rome (1981). |
