| Montana pioneer and US senator, born in Brownfield, Maine, USA. He moved to Montana in 1879 and raised the first large flock of sheep there. He planned the city of Great Falls and was deeply connected with the waterpower, coal mining, and railroad development in the town. He was a US Senator (Democrat, Montana, 1901–5). |
