| biography:
| Priest and writer, born in Madytos, Dardanelles, Turkey. A Greek Orthodox priest, he was a voluntary chaplain during the Balkan War (1912–13). He went to the USA (1914) and, while serving as a priest in a Greek Orthodox church in Brooklyn, edited the Greek National Herald (1915–18, 1922–44), and encouraged Greek-Americans to maintain their Greek heritage in the USA. He opposed the restoration of the Greek monarchy (1935), and denounced the Greek Left at the end of World War 2. |
