| Poet and playwright, born in Co Longford, C Ireland. He studied at Trinity College, Dublin, and was a leader of the Irish literary revival. He wrote several plays for the Abbey Theatre, and helped to found the Irish Review (1911). From 1914 he lived in the USA, and published two studies on Hawaiian folklore (1924, 1926). He wrote several volumes of poetry, and also children's stories. |
