| Artist and writer, born in Pöchlarn, NC Austria. He studied at Vienna, and taught at the Dresden Academy of Art (1919–24). He travelled widely, and painted many Expressionist landscapes in Europe. In 1938 he fled to England, and became naturalized in 1947. From 1953 he lived in Switzerland. |
