| biography:
| Chronicler, poet, and diplomat, born in Villegaudin, Burgundy, EC France. After serving as a page to Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy, he entered the service of the Duke's son, the count of Charolais (later Charles the Bold). He became Charles's secretary, and represented him on many diplomatic missions throughout Europe. His most important writing was The State of the House of Charles, Duke of Burgundy (1474), but his two volumes of memoirs (c.1490) are unreliable as history. |
