The winner of many awards including seven Tonys and the Sam S Shubert Award for Achievement in the Theatre, his designs span all aspects of performance - drama, opera, ballet, and film. He began his Broadway career in 1942 with Rosalinda, followed by designs for Brigadoon (1947), My Fair Lady (1956), West Side Story (1957), and The Odd Couple (1965). |
