| National Hunt jockey, born in Castletownroche, Co Cork, S Ireland. Following an unsuccessful spell in the stable of Sir Gordon Richards, he became freelance and concentrated on the National Hunt. He twice became champion jockey (1977–8, 1979–80), riding 148 winners in one season. |
