| Conductor and horn player, born in London, UK. He studied at the Royal College of Music, and became assistant conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (1947–8), principal conductor of the English Opera Group (1948–56), and conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (1960–5). His son, Jonathan Del Mar (1951– ), also became a conductor. |
