| biography:
| Dancer and choreographer, born in Valencia, E Spain. He studied at the Lambert School in London and improved himself at Maurice Béjart's Mudra School in Brussels and at the Alvin Ailey Dance American Centre in New York. In 1980 he joined the Stockholm Cullberg Ballet, moving to the Nederlands Dans Theater (1981) where he was appointed permanent choreographer in 1988. In 1990 he was appointed artistic director of the Spanish National Musical Ballet, which later became the National Dance Company. Among his outstanding choreographic attainments are Arenal with music by María del Mar Bonet; Synaphai, with music by Xenakis y Vangelia; and the Concerto Madrigal, with music by Joaquín Rodrigo. In 1997 he began his professional career as an actor in the television series La virtud del asesino. |
