He joined Crowell-Collier publishers (1928), and as publisher of American Magazine (1941–6) he tripled circulation while increasing advertising revenue, a formula he repeated in resuscitating Parade Magazine (president, 1946–70). He was president of the US Chamber of Commerce (1960–1). |
