| Film actress, producer, and director, born in Roswell, New Mexico, USA. She worked in television before making her film debut in Choices (1981), but her major breakthrough came with St Elmo's Fire (1984). Later films include Ghost (1990), Indecent Proposal (1992), The Scarlet Letter (1995), Striptease (1996), and G.I.Jane (1997). She set up a production company, Moving Pictures, with Suzanne Todd; their work includes Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999). In 2000 she returned to the screen in the low-budget film, Passion of Mind. She was married to actor Bruce Willis (1987–98). |
