| Painter, born in Coulommiers, NC France. Strongly influenced by Vouet and Caravaggio, and a friend of Poussin, he settled permanently in Rome in 1620. His works include ‘Judith’ (Musée de Toulouse), ‘Réunion dans un cabaret’ (Louvre), and ‘Martyrdom of SS Processus and Martinian’ (1629–30, Vatican). |
