| biography:
| Computer software designer, born in New York City, New York, USA. He founded Lotus Development Corp in Cambridge, MA (1982), and designed the spreadsheet Lotus 1-2-3 with Jonathan Sachs. He resigned from Lotus (1986) then founded and directed ON Technology (1987–90). In 1990 he founded the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a public-interest organization dealing with computer issues and civil liberties. |
