| Writer, born in Batavia, the former Netherlands East Indies. After spending three years in a Japanese internment camp, she came to The Netherlands in 1946. She published a number of successful collections of poems written in plain language and strongly directed at the self. Other works include popular children's books, realistic psychological novels, and travel reports about her return to her native country. |
