| Violinist, born in Talnoy, C Ukraine. He made his public debut at age five, studied at the St Petersburg Conservatory, and made his professional debut in Berlin at 13. In 1908 he made his first appearance in the USA in New York City, and settled there in 1911. He pursued an international career, especially admired for his treatment of the Romantic repertoire. |
