| Strip cartoonist, born in Hillsboro, Ohio, USA. He created his first daily strip, Dickie Dare, in 1933, then joined the New York Daily News to create a similar serial, Terry and the Pirates (1934). Suddenly abandoning Terry, he created a new series about an ex-pilot, Steve Canyon (1947), which continued until the artist's death. |
