| Novelist and essayist, born in Poitiers, W France. On arriving in Paris, he was an adherent of Surrealism, from which he was excluded in 1951 for ‘déviationisme catholique’. He wrote novels, such as Les Portes Dauphines (1954), and his essays include André Breton et les fondements théoriques du Surréalisme (1950) and Les Machines célibataires (on Kafka, Duchamp, Roussel, and Jarry). |
