| Actor, born in Fulmer, Buckinghamshire, SC England, UK. He studied at Oxford, then joined the Dundee Repertory Theatre (1964) and the National Theatre Company (1965). He has appeared in a wide range of roles for both cinema and television. His films include The Taming of the Shrew (1966), Cabaret (1971), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Joker (1988), The Prodigal Father (1991), and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997). Television appearances include Jesus of Nazareth (1976), The Far Country (1985), The Night of the Fox (1990), and A Knight in Camelot (1998). An autobiography, Travelling Player, appeared in 1991. |
