| Pianist, born in Timaru, New Zealand. He first gained international recognition with third place in the 1973 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. He has also been a major prizewinner in both the Leeds and Tchaikovsky International Piano Competitions. A regular performer on the world concert stage, particularly of the works of Beethoven and Rachmaninov, he has worked from New Zealand since 1981. |
