| British potter. After studying under Bernard Leach at St Ives (1923–6), he set up his own studio at Winchcombe in the Cotswolds, moving in 1939 to Wenford Bridge in Cornwall. In 1942 he took over the Achimota College on the Gold Coast (now Ghana), and started his own stoneware pottery at Vumé on the Volta. |
