| Italian politician, born in Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna, NC Italy. He was a deputy from 1913 and Colonial Office minister in 1920. He took part in the 1924 Aventine secession against Fascism, and abandoned active politics until 1943. Among the founders of the Partito Democratico del Lavoro, he held various ministerial posts, and was one of the 75 people who devised the blueprint for the Italian constitution. He was also a senator from 1948 to 1953. |
