| Television comedienne, born in Wu Chang, China, to American missionaries. She trained as a singer and was featured on radio in the Bob and Ray Show, then appeared on television's Jackie Gleason Show (1952–5). A regular on television comedy shows, she played Ralph Cramden's long-suffering wife, Alice, in Honeymooners (1955–6), and appeared in Murder She Wrote (1980s) and on CBS's Uncle Buck (1990–1). |
