| biography:
| Writer, born in Würzburg, SC Germany. Originally a painter, he turned to writing in 1891. His early poetry, including the collections Ultra-Violet (1893) and Reliquien (1899), show a strict observance of form, but his later style is impressionistic and exotic. His travels in Asia strongly influenced his prose. He also wrote novels and novellas. |
