| Writer, born in Marburg, Austria. A friend of both Hans Carossa and Hugo von Hofmannsthal, his first work, Lateinische Erzählungen (1904), was well-received. He wrote novellas, plays, and poetry in the traditional Austrian folklore style, sometimes in dialect and always from a Christian viewpoint. His subject-matter is historical and religious. |
