| Politician and scholar, born in Florence, Tuscany, NC Italy. He held a number of administrative posts under the Medicis, and wrote Historia florentina in Latin where, in accordance with the principles of humanism, history is viewed as the celebration of important people. He also wrote, in the vernacular, the neo-platonic poem La città di vita (c.1464) and the dialogue Della vita civile (1529) on how to become a good citizen. |
