| British playwright. Brought up in London by Irish parents, much of his work is set in Ireland. In 1997 his first four plays were running simultaneously in London's West End: The Leenane Trilogy (comprising The Beauty Queen of Leenane, A Skull in Connemara, and The Lonesome West) and The Cripple of Inishmaan. Later plays include The Lieutenant of Inishmore (2001). |
