| Novelist, born in Stroby, E Denmark. He worked on the land and as a teacher, but after 1945 devoted himself to writing. His early novels deal with social problems in the 1930s, and he later developed a more profound style, notably in his psychological novel Løgneren (1950, The Liar) and the metaphysical Orm og Tyr (1952, The Serpent and the Bull). |
