| Writer, born in Bergen op Zoom, SW Netherlands. She published her first novel Havinck in 1984, which was made into a film. In her popular success De lichtjager (1990, The Light Hunter) she gives a psychological study of the frustrations of the alcoholic main character and his relations with the people around him, thereby addressing the traditional subject of personal isolation and alienation. |
