His many works, characterized by a gentle irony and sharp psychological analysis, include La verità sul caso Motta (1937), A cena col commendatore (1950), Il vero Silvestri (1957), I racconti del maresciallo (1967), La sposa americana (1977), and La finestra (1991). He also worked as screenwriter and directed films based on well-known novels, including Piccolo mondo antico and Malombra. |
