| biography:
| Writer, born in Karlsruhe, SW Germany. She married the archaeologist Freiherr G von Kaschnitz Weinberg, with whom she travelled extensively. Her poetry employs conventional forms of structure and organization and is often very personal, as in the collection Dein Schweigen - meine Stimme (1962) written after her husband's death, with themes of grief and loneliness. She also wrote novels, short stories, radio plays, and diaries. In 1955 she was awarded the Georg-Büchner-Preis. |
