| Spanish actress who teamed up with Coquelin and Sarah Bernhardt in Paris. As principal actress of the Teatro de la Comedia in Madrid, she played leading roles in Galdos' La loca de la casa and La de San Qunitín, in Feliu y Codina's La Dolores, and in Guimerà's María Rosa. She formed a theatrical company with her husband, Fernando Díaz de Mendoza, reassessed the classical Spanish repertoire, and also succeeded in the Americas, where she contributed to the construction of the Teatro Cervantes in Buenos Aires. |
