| biography:
| Sculptor, born in Valencia, E Spain, the brother of Josep and Joan Antoni. Examples of his work are effigies and monuments, such as those of Alfonso XII and General Martínez, in the Museo del Prado and the Parque del Retiro, Madrid, and religious sculptures, such as the statues of St Matthias and St Mark, for the church of St Francis the Great in Madrid. The most interesting aspect of his output was the copious production of small terracotta pieces whose realism is expressive and dynamic. |
