| Film-maker, born in Francfort-sur-le-Main, the son of Max Ophuls. His most notable works are Le Chagrin et la Pitié (initially for television) which dealt with the occupation in France, Hotel Terminus about the trial of Klaus Barbie, Jours de Novembre concerning German reunification, and in 1995 a film on the Bosnian war Veillée d'armes, histoire de journalisme en temps de guerre. |
