| Singer, born in Fréjus, SE France. A musician, he returned from America to France after the Revolution in 1797 and directed the Caveau, where he encouraged Béranger. An observer of his contemporaries, his works include Le Délire bachique and Paris à cinq heures du matin (reprised by Jacques Dutronc in Paris s'éveille), compositions which earned him the name of Anachréon Français. |
