biography: Scottish queen, born in Hungary. She moved to England, but after the Norman Conquest fled to Scotland with her younger brother, Edgar the Ætheling. She married the Scottish king, Malcolm Canmore, and did much to civilize the realm, and to assimilate the old Celtic Church to the rest of Christendom. She was canonized in 1250. Feast day 16 November or 19 June.
