| Poet, born in The Hague, W Netherlands. She studied medicine in Leiden and became a psychiatrist. Her romantic realistic poems were immediately popular. The characteristics of her work are intelligence and lucidity, while using sober and simple verse forms. Among other prizes, she received the Constantijn Huygensprijs in 1974 and the P C Hooft-prijs in 1982. |
