| Writer and actor, born in New York City, New York, USA. He served in the Marine Corps (1944–6) and studied at Wesleyan (1951 BA). He became a Broadway and television actor (1952–60), and a theatre producer in New Jersey (1957–70) and New York City (1960–9). With the publication of his first espionage novel, The Scarlatti Inheritance (1971), he became a successful full-time writer of suspense fiction. Later novels include The Bourne Identity (1980), The Scorpio Illusion (1992), The Matarese Countdown (1997), and The Prometheus Deception (2000). He lived in Hartford, CT. |
