| Roman orator. In 95 he was elected consul, along with Quintus Scaevola. During their consulship a rigorous law was enacted banishing from Rome all who had not the full rights of citizens, which was one of the chief causes of the Social War (90–88). Crassus is the chief speaker in Cicero's De oratore, and represents the writer's own opinions. |
