| Pharmacologist, born in New York City, USA. He studied at Columbia and Minnesota universities, later working at Tulane University (1979–85), and at the University of California, Los Angeles. He shared the 1998 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine for his contribution to the discovery of nitric oxide as a signalling molecule in the cardiovascular system. |
