| Modern dancer and choreographer, born in New York City, USA. After studying with José Limón, Martha Graham, and Charles Weidman, he joined the Limón company in 1960. In 1967 he formed his own company and began to choreograph, his works being adopted by many of the world's major contemporary dance companies. His film work includes the dance element of the successful theatre school story, Fame (1980). |
