| Film-maker and writer, born in Cadouin, SW France. He is best known for the prize named after him, the Prix Louis Delluc, awarded annually by a jury for the best film of the year. One of the first serious French film critics, he coined the phrase ‘Ciné-Clubs’ and launched Cinéa 1921, the first review of French cinema. He wrote novels and plays and made seven films, including his best work, Fièvre (1921), and is credited with giving the French public a taste for the cinema . |
