| Sectarian, born in London, UK. With his cousin, John Reeve (1608–58), he presented himself as the messenger of a new divine dispensation in 1652, founded the sect of Muggletonians, and published a Spiritual Transcendental Treatise (1652). They held that the Devil became incarnate in Eve, and denied the Holy Trinity. Muggleton was imprisoned for blasphemy in 1677. |
