| biography:
| Philosopher, born in Miletus, Asia Minor. He was the originator of the atomistic cosmology which Democritus later developed, and which is most fully expounded in Lucretius's great poem ‘De rerum natura’. Leucippus is usually credited with two books, The Great World System and On the Mind, but his theories and writings are not reliably separable from those of Democritus. |
