| Poet, essayist, and journalist, born in Paris, France. He is mainly remembered for his essays on Paris collected in Le Piéton de Paris (1939). His work contained elements of the movements he was associated with, such as Cubism and Surrealism. He befriended many artists and composers, including Picasso and Stravinsky, and co-founded the Nouvelle Revue Française in 1912. His poetry includes Pour la musique (1919), Espaces (1929), and Sous la lampe (1929). |
