| Italian politican and historian, born in Fiume (Rijeka), W Croatia. He actively opposed Fascism, was jailed in 1928, and lived in exile in France from 1936. With others he founded the Partito d'Azione (Action Party), was one of the leaders of the Italian resistance, and a deputy of the Constituent Assembly. He became a life senator in 1980. As a historian, his main subjects have been socialism, as in Questioni di storia del socialismo (1958) and anti-Fascism. |
