She made her film debut in 1950 with The Milkman, later films including The Hustler (1961, Oscar nomination), Carrie (1976), Return to Oz (1985), Wrestling Ernest Hemingway (1993), The Grass Harp (1996), and The Faculty (1998). Her television work includes The Thorn Birds (1983), Twin Peaks (1990), and Intensity (1997), and she received an Emmy for her role in the television production of Promise (1986). |
