| Christian martyr, said to have been born in Huesca, NE Spain. He became a deacon at Rome under Pope St Sixtus II. In the persecution of Valerian he was condemned to death, and the Basilica of San Lorenzo, Rome, was later built over his place of burial. Feast day 10 August. |
